Nokia Lumia 1020 vs S4 vs HTC One

Finally, after a long wait, the Nokia has unveiled ‘Nokia Lumia 1020‘. This device is just superb and is the best of all smartphones launched by Nokia so far. But, the smartphone market is not about Nokia only. There are many other companies in it. Some companies have done a great work in the past some time. HTC, with its smartphone ‘HTC One‘, is one of those companies. Samsung, with its smartphone ‘Galaxy S4‘ is also not behind. It’s quite obvious that when Nokia 1020 will hit the market, it will have to face tough competition from these two smartphones. So, which one is gonna win? This comparison article may help us in this aspect.

Lumia 1020 vs HTC One vs Galaxy S4


Lumia 1020 has quite an attractive outlook. The dimensions are 130.4 x 71.4 x 10.4 mm, and the weight is 158g.

Dimensions of Galaxy S4 are 136.6 x 69.8 x 7.9 mm, and the weight is 130g.

Look-wise, HTC One gives a tough competition to the aforementioned smartphones. The dimensions are 137.4 x 68.2 x 9.3 mm, and the weight is 143g.


4.5-inches AMOLED capacitive touchscreen is what is there in Nokia 1020. The display resolution is 768 x 1280 pixels, and the pixel density is 332ppi.

Samsung Galaxy S4 has 5.0-inches Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen that offers 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. The pixel density is 441ppi.

HTC One comes with 4.7-inches Super LCD3 capacitive touchscreen. 469ppi is pixel density, and resolution is 1080 x 1920 pixels.

Processor and Operating System

Chipset in Nokia 1020 is Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon, and the Processor is Dual-core 1.5GHz Krait. The operating system in this smartphone is Microsoft Windows Phone 8.

Samsung Galaxy S4 has Exynos 5 Octa 5410 Chipset, and it comes with eight-core processor. To be precise, the Galaxy S4 has Quad-core 1.6GHz Cortex-A15 & quad-core 1.2GHz Cortex-A7. Operating System is Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

HTC One comes with Qualcomm APQ8064T Snapdragon 600, and the Quad-core 1.7GHz Krait 300. The OS is Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.


Camera is the star feature of Nokia Lumia 1020. It has 41 MP (38 MP effective, 7152 x 5368 pixels) camera. The lens is Carl Zeiss. This camera has two types of flash- Xenon & LED, and comes with optical image stabilization feature. PureView imaging technology is part of it. The Secondary Camera is of 1.2MP.

Samsung Galaxy S4 has 13 MP, 4128 x 3096 pixels camera. The major features are Dual Shot, simultaneous HD video and image recording, image stabilization etc. The Secondary Camera is 2MP.

Primary Camera in HTC One is 4MP. It features Ultrapixel technology. The major features are simultaneous HD video and image recording, optical image stabilization and  face and smile detection. Secondary Camera is 2.1MP.


32GB Internal, non-expandable, 2GB RAM- are memory stats of Nokia 1020.

Galaxy S4 is available in 16/32/64 GB storage variants. It supports microSD card of up to 64GB. RAM is 2GB.

HTC One is available in 32/64 GB memory variants. No support for microSD card is there in it. RAM is 2GB.


Non-removable Li-Ion 2000mAh battery (BV-5XW) in Lumia 1020 provides talk time of Up to 19 h (2G) / Up to 13 h 20 min (3G).

Li-Ion 2600mAh battery in Galaxy S4 provides talk time of (2G) / Up to 17 h (3G).

HTC One has Non-removable Li-Po 2300mAh battery, that provides talk time of Up to 27 h (2G) / Up to 18 h (3G).


If you like to click pictures with smartphone, then of course, the best out of these three for you is ‘Nokia Lumia 1020’. Other features of this smartphone are also incredible. So, my choice is Nokia Lumia 1020. What’s yours?
